Evaluation

Evaluating

1.    What is something I learned using the Creative Cycle?
I learned a lot of things using the Creative Cycle. I learned about how important it is to plan things, and also it is really important to agree on things before we started it. I learned about collaborating and team works, and also a lot more about planning.

2.    How do I feel about the performance?
I feel happy about my performance because I do think we all had a lot of fun. Even though the performance isn’t as good as the practice, but it was still good enough as what the other class/the audiences said.

3.    What is one thing I have improved upon this semester in music class?
I improved a couple thing upon this semester like how planning and collaborating are really important especially in group works, big one like this class was. I also improved my Kolintang skills by doing another song that has up beat (Superstition).

4.    What is something I feel like I’m really good at?
I actually don’t know, but maybe Kolintang? I was good at Kolintang in year 7, but I got better this year so I think Kolintang it is.

5.    What is something I need to improve?
I need to improve my singing skills and also my Creative Cycle skills (I meant all of it) because it is actually really important in school, and also in life so that’s what I should improve.

6.    What needs improvements in the performance?
We actually needs a lot of improvements in the performance such as the singers, we need to be loud enough. We also need a lot more time for practice because we got so little time, we only got 1, 1 and a half months and to learn 3 songs from scratch was hard.

7.    Did everyone work and perform in their best ability?
When we were practicing on the theatre before the performance? Yes. The performance? No. I do think tons of us got stage fright and that is actually common. But a lot of us also were too embarrassed in front of other people (Their Peers) that are common too. So I think it were the peer pressures that hold us down.

8.    Was the choice of theme or topic effective?
I do think the choice of theme was effective, but I do also think the audience didn’t get it? I think they didn’t realize that it was supposed to be legends of every decades and it kind of sucks thinking that we used 3/4th of the class thinking about this theme.

9.    Was the choice of instruments effective?
Yes. The choice of instruments are effective because it support each other, and they all sounds good together so I think it’s alright.

10. What would you suggest about the choice of instrument if we do perform again?
I actually don’t want to change anything because it sounds real good.

11. Were the singers sounding together? Were they loud enough?
The singers were sounding together but they weren’t loud enough, at least as high as I expected it to be.

12. What is something you liked about the performance?
I liked the Superstition one; the whole song because it was so fun and everyone seems to enjoyed it so yeah.

13. Could you hear all the parts?
Sadly no. I couldn’t hear the harmony people during Hey Jude, I couldn’t hear the singers well enough in Superstition, and I couldn’t hear the Kolintang in Thriller.

14. What was something you learned using the Creative Cycle?
I learned about team works and about investigating a lot more.
15. What is something you really enjoyed during this semester?
I really enjoyed practicing with my classmates because we all had fun together and I thought it was really nice to have fun and hang around with some people that I haven’t spend a lot of time with.

16. What is something that you found a little difficult using the Creative Cycle?
I found that it was hard to agree on things especially in a group because it is actually real hard and I didn’t think it was this hard to agree on thing.

17. If you could do it all over again, what would you change?
I would straightly change the first song, which is Hey Jude to I want you back by Jackson 5 because Hey Jude was pretty slow, and I want you back was fun and we can have dancers in it. So that’s what I would change.

18. How much are you going to miss Ibu Megan?

I would miss Ibu Megan a lot because Ibu Megan was, and is a great teacher. She is so nice and fun, and she didn’t get too angry with us even though she could. It was fun being her student, and I wish I would be in one of her class in the future.

Top 5 Ideas

1. Evolution of Music.
I think everyone is agree to this idea (i dont know for sure tho). Because, just looking back to the past 5 years, we know there's alot of extreme changes that happens. It will be really cool if we use the 90s music too! It will be surprising and nobody will expect it. But, the thing is this is kind of hard. We need to learn a lot of music, first of all. and we need to manage people so we can use the correct instruments.

2. Body Percussion.
This is very cool and easy at the same time. Because by playing the music itself, some of us can already imagine it. This could also be combined with other ideas too.

3. Disney Songs.
I'm a Disney kid, and I think it explains all. Most people know disney songs, so I think it will be so good with all of the throwback songs.

4. Kolintang Orchestra.
I like this idea because all of us can play kolintang, and it will be easy because we already know how to    play it. But, we need to make the music for it, so it will be kind of hard too.

5. MJ Tribute
This is a great idea because we're bringing the song back. MJ and Whitney are really good singers, so I think it will be a really good idea because people can sing along.

Inspirations

So, what inspire me a lot for the last couples of days is Melanie Amaro and Monique Abaddie

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2P6gObrjSu8

This is a video of Melanie Amaro singing Listen by Beyonce. This inspire me to sing a lot more, and to feel the music. Her voice is very powerful and beautiful. She ended up as The X-Factor winner.

This is a video of Monique Abaddie singing Loca by Shakira. She's so fun and flirty, but she has a powerful and beautiful voice also.

Another one of my inspiration is Ariana's new album, My Everything. You can check it out on ITunes, it just came out.
